About

The purpose of this website is principally for me to write about the things I’m learning about both as an archive for my own general purposes and to share with anyone else who might be interested. I love a good debate and welcome comments correcting or disputing the ideas I post here.

I’m not in school and as of now, I don’t have any specific end in mind with my learning–it’s all learning for the sake of learning. I do hope to eventually reach the point where I narrow down my research, but I don’t see that happening in the near future.

I’m 29 years old, an American living in Uruguay with his family. My interests are broad–from tech to literature to politics to science to art. If you’d like to contact me, leave a comment and I’ll get back to you.

I am very much enjoying your thoughts here. Great Blog!

I was wondering how you ended up in Uruguay? I am American and would like to live in another country with my family someday and am very curious how other people work this out. If you have a moment, maybe you could tell me a little bit about how you made this possible. Was this a move you were able to make with your job-company, do you work for yourself, how long have you been able to stay in Uruguay, how has this worked out with your children and schooling? Any info you would be willing to share would be very valuable to me. Thank you for your time.

We ended up in Uruguay mostly because we were looking to live abroad, wanted some time for reflection and love Latin American and Latin Americans in general. We’ll be here for a year–at least that’s the plan now, it’s been 4 months already.

I initially planned on working for myself but it turned out my company allowed me to keep working for them while we’re here. I’m a web developer and most of my work can be done over the phone and an Internet connection.

We only have one child, he’s almost 5 and he’ll enter school in a few days. It’s a private school and we’ve got high hopes but we’ll take it as it comes.
